Man is the only animal that blushes#or needs to. Often it does seem a pity that Noah and his party did not miss the boat. Substitute "damn" every time you're inclined to write "very"; your editor will delete it and the writing will be just as it should be. The human race has one really effective weapon, and that is laughter. The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who cannot read them. The more I know about people, the better I like my dog. The principle of give and take is the principle of diplomacy - give one and take ten. Truth is more of a stranger than fiction. Under certain circumstances, profanity provides a relief denied even to prayer. You cannot depend on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus. |
